ISLAMIC, Umayyad Caliphate. al-Walid I ibn 'Abd al-Malik, AH 86-96 / AD 705-715. Pashiz (Bronze, 18 mm, 2.79 g), Arab-Sasanian type, Susa, circa AH 80-90 = AD 700-710. Long-haired, bearded and draped male bust facing; around, FZUT GDH ('may his kingship increase' in Pahlawi). Rev. Legend in Pahlawi, probably in three lines. Album -. Gyselen -. Apparently unique and unpublished save for its previous auction appearance. The reverse struck somewhat off center and with two minor flan cracks, otherwise, about very fine.
